international students at swarthmore college

On this page is an overview of what iSAMs do, and (scroll down) a list of links to our iSAMs.

What are iSAMs?

iSAMs --- international Student Academic Mentors --- are i20ers who volunteer (so make sure to appreciate their time:) to share info or answer questions concerning their majors, minors, and the classes they've taken. Hopefully, having them there will make choosing classes and planning majors a bit less stressful.
They're a resource not just for incoming freshmen, but for all i20ers who may be considering a certain class or a certain prof, but would like to be more informed. Upperclassmen iSAMs are especially useful for tips when it comes to constructing majors and the like, but underclassmen iSAMs may also have taken unique classes that you'd like to know about, or may be closer to you in terms of educational background, etc.
So take a look and find someone who looks like they might be able to help you! Feel free to email them with questions; or even schedule a Sharples meal so you can get to know the iSAM as a friend and person as well as satisfy your string of queries.

We're also always looking for more iSAMs..... especially from the more underrepresented (even nonexistent)/ majors/minors on the list. Simply email i20.swat @ gmail.com.

How do I use this list?
Each department listed here has some extent of representation --- ranging from iSAMs who are full-fledged majors, to an iSAM who's happened to have taken a couple of classes in it. Whatever the case, each page will first list the iSAMs who major and minor in that dept (if any), and then the iSAMs who've taken classes in those depts.

All departments marked with a (*) are available at Swat only as minors.
Happy sharing!
